Servant Leadership

You will often hear me speak of “servant leadership.” It is my opinion that the term leader should never be used without the word servant preceding it. Let me give you a little insight as to how my views of “servant leadership” have been formed.

I have often been moved by great speeches and quotes from years gone by. This quote from Martin Luther King, jr. speaks to the conviction I hold. “Not everyone can be famous. But, everyone can be great, because greatness is determined by service. You don’t have to have a college degree to serve. You don’t have to make your subject and verb agree to serve. You don’t have to know about Plato and Aristotle to serve. You don’t have to know Einstein’s theory of relativity to serve. You don’t have to know the second theory of thermodynamics in physics to serve. You only need a heart full of grace and a soul generated by love.” Those who SERVE, lead!

Together, we can do more!
