VISION
/Scripture: Proverbs 29:18 “Where there is no vision, people perish, but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.” (KJV)
NIV: “Where there is no revelation, the people cast off restraint, but blessed is he who keeps the law.” (divine guidance/ run wild)
Message: “If people can’t see what God is doing, they stumble all over themselves; but when they attend to what He is saying, they are most blessed.”
Maxwell: Vision Is:
The ability to see: Awareness
The ability to believe: Attitude
The courage to do: Action
Barna stated: Vision for ministry is a reflection of what God wants to accomplish through you to build His Kingdom.
*Illustration: Lynn Anderson tells the story of the early settlers who discovered America, located a Town site, and then established a Town Government. The government leaders planned to build a road five miles west, but the settlers wanted to impeach them. (They set sail across the Atlantic to discover America, but could not build a road five miles out of town)
It is easy to give up…… Dissatisfaction and discouragement are not caused by the absence of things, but the absence of vision.
Vision focuses on the future
Vision moves forward
Vision helps us to mark and measure our success
Vision gives us the drive and passion to push and to press on
Vision gives the ability to expand and grow
Vision helps us turn our dreams into reality. ..
It is my prayer that God will help us see the harvest through the eyes of Jesus (“I tell you to look, and you will see that the fields are ripe and ready to harvest”– John 4:35).
To see beyond our circumstances into the bright future that God has for us. (Isaiah 43:18-19 “Forget what happened long ago! Don’t think about the past. I am creating something new. Do you see it? I have put roads in deserts, streams in thirsty lands.”)
May we see His ways and follow His plans. . . (“Just as the heavens are higher than the earth, My thoughts and My ways are higher than yours” – Isaiah 55:9)
